My title is a long acronym, you probably won't be able to guess what it is for. Send me comments with guesses though. But into Genius Hour. We are done. This is my last blog post on this blog, at least for class. If I feel like, I might drop some new content in the future when I reach 200 lbs on the bench press, and so on after.
So, we will be doing our final products on the day we get back from Christmas break. I will be compiling data, adding videos, some other stuff , for this final, most awesome project. I won't be telling you if I reached my goal. You will find out when I present my final product. Just know, I'm pretty good at keeping my word on what I'm going to do. Spoiler, maybe. Trick to make you think I did, maybe. Find out when we comeback. This project was fun to do. I'm glad Mr.Barker allowed take time to let us explore our interests. I probably wouldn't have worked this hard if Mr.Barker didn't push us to do this stuff most of didn't have time to do. Thanks for reading my blog these last 12 weeks. Peace be with you.

On Saturday I benched 175 lbs. Which means I now only need to add 10 lbs to bench press to reach my goal. I did 175 lbs with out a spotter. There was one there, I just didn't need any help. I did attempt 185 lbs, but I could not do it without the the spotter. When I did it, he actually did the most work. So I have two weeks to try and get that. I feel like I can do it. I just have to believe.
Even if I were not able to get 185 lbs, I won't be too disappointed. I hope I can do it, I know I can, but I know how hard I've worked. I know I have done all I can and worked as hard as I could. I put 110% effort into it. So if I do come up short, I will be slightly disappointed, but it won't be the end of the world. That is just a disclaimer though. I am still going to try my best to get to 185 lbs. That was the whole point of the project. But if I come up a little short, it won't be on my conscience for the rest of my live. We have three more weeks to go before Genius Hour is finished. Now I need to start working on how I am going to present my progress to the class. One idea was to bring them to the weight room, but I don't know if their is a class going on first period. Or, I could just record my self doing a 185 lb bench press. I have not gotten to 185 lbs yet so I still have to work towards that. It is not far though. I did not lift over the weekend so I am still at the same weight I was last blog. I will lift with Grant next weekend, and possibly over this break we have.
I have to start working a lot harder. I have made progress, but I feel like I am coming in close. We have three weeks, and I need to add another 15 lbs to my bench press. I know I have not mentioned this in any of my other posts, but I do use a spotter. I know anyone who lifts weights knows you need one. I was just mentioning this so anyone who didn't know, now knows. Grant or his dad usually spots. So when people see me do my final presentation, whether it is a video, or me actually doing it live, they won't ask why I'm getting helped out. We lost in the first round of the playoff's to Porter Ridge, 49-27. It was a tough loss, but overall, we had a decent season. We played hard on Friday and it showed. But now, football is officially over. Now I am free after to school lift. I now have more time to lift and gain strength. I am going to see about using the weight room after school to do that. So I will be able to lift with Grant on the weekends and during the week after school. Possibly with Grant after school.
I did 165 lbs last week. I have not lifted since then. I should still probably be able to do that. But I haven't made any gains since then. I still have plenty of time to get to my goal of 185 lbs. So this keeps me in a pretty good spot. Hopefully I can be at the 185 lb mark in the next two weeks. I feel like I can do it. Its just a matter of doing it. We made it to the playoffs for football. So it is not over. I got moved up to varsity for this so I am going to have to work on the weekends again because, once again, I won't have time to lift during the week. That is okay though.
